PROBLEM

Social-media is the biggest cause of self-esteem issues in young girls today, distorting their perceptions of reality and beauty.

INSIGHT

In 2006 Dove released "Evolution", a film that unveiled the truth behind the beauty industry, showing why our vision of beauty is so distorted. Twelve years later, the world of manipulated beauty is at an all-time high with the power no longer just in the hands of the beauty industry, but every young person with a social media account.

IDEA

As a sequel to Dove’s iconic film “Evolution”, we debunked the glamorous and perfectly filtered world of social media photos, which often have to be re-taken hundreds of times to make them look effortlessly perfect. It's the reason why 12 years later our perception of beauty is sadly still just as distorted.

Evolution's Evolution is currently being rolled out as a functional piece of content for the Dove Self Esteem Project, shown in schools all around the world to help educate girls on how to build body confidence and self-esteem from a young age.
